Looking for a good guide on how to build a good support heretic. Haven't played as one and I'm still new to the game, but every game I get into I always like to be the healer. Anyways a good build would be appreciated.

An excellent starter guide to Heretic's.
Summary: Put all your potential points into Spr. Assuming gear fortification to +4, gem wise, get light attack/critstrike (or matk) for offensive (weapon/necklace/rings/pendent/gloves), hp/pdef for defensive (everything else).
Just make sure that you get light attack above everything else because light attack is important in making sure your heal is good.

Full spirit (and sometimes i add a little con) because, well, heretics are supposed to be a support-ish class and aren't meant to be DPS, if you wanted DPS then choose some other class (SERIOUSLY.)
Also, concentrating on heretics strong points are a good idea...i guess. Unless you want to experiment (not recommended for your main character) then i would definitely say full spr.

Full SPR. Lvl Heal(Max), Fort(Max), SL(Max), Angel Barrier(Max), Bless to at least 6-7 unless you want to go 10 and keep it up on 2 people all the time, also Absolution if you ever get 85.
If I forgot any skills I apologize, don't think I did though.
Anyways, hope that helps.

Oops, forgot skills.
You may also want to max Devotion and Revive once you get enough levels for them (Devotion to further boost your heal strength and revive just in case someone dies).
Other than those skills + the ones mentioned earlier, the rest are either dps or pvp skills, so you can ignore them if you want.

What would be the ideal pet for a support heretic?

Full support, right (so a non-dps pet)?
Basically, you'll want a mana battery pet (aka spirit type) that'll help refill your mp with Mana Sacrifice. Below's a modified post that I made a while back about it.

The primary skill for a mana battery is Advanced Mana Sacrifice (transfer 30% of pet mp to your mp).
The other 5 skills slots can be used in the following areas: Pet Mp Recovery Skills (Advanced Energize, Advanced MP Recovery) Hp Recovery Skills (Advanced Mana Transfer/Basic Mana Transfer) Heretic Pet Buffs (Advanced Focus, Basic Focus, Advanced Intellect, Advanced Anger) Pet Max MP Boosters (Advanced Concentration, Basic Concentration) AOE (Advanced Storm, Advanced Firestrike, Advanced Blizzard, Advanced Shadowshroud) Debuffs (Advanced Sunder/Advanced Weaken/Advanced Mind Number) Single Target DPS skills (Advanced Spirit Slash, Basic Spirit Slash) I don't really recommend the dps related skills since a spr pet build isn't great for dps, and with a relatively low crit rate, it doesn't take full advantage of the aoes skills boost from critical hits. For Pet Mp Recovery, you basically have three choices: when the pet is low on mp, either use pet potions, let the pet die and resummon and use trainer licenses to boost loyalty, or use pet mp recovery skills. Personally, I prefer to use pet potions (primarily to recover hp when I can't use heal on it due to party taking damage) + pet mp recovery skills since the skill starts cooldown once it's summoned (in other words, you have to wait 2 minutes to use advanced mana sacrifice once you summon the pet). The Hp recovery skills (convert pet mp into your hp) are pretty nice if you tend to not keep bless/free food going to keep your hp up and if you're forgetful about keeping your hp up. |
